Mizoram observes Vigilance Awareness Week

Vigilance Awareness Week 2019 got underway in Mizoram from Tuesday.

It was inaugurated by deputy commissioner of Champhai Alexander V Chongthu at Government Champhai College Multipurpose Hall.

Alexander V Chawngthu stressed that to eradicate the rampant corruption, a collective dedication of every person is needed and each one of us should try our level best to curb the menace posed by corruption.

In the campaign, J Lalmuankima, additional SP, ACB, Vigilance Department  elaborated about the Vigiliance Awareness Campaign 2019 and the chosen theme for 2019, ‘Integrity – A way of life’.

Vigilance Awarenes Week is a yearly conducted programme in every state.

The main reason which leads to corruption is dishonesty and unfaithfulness, he added.

The resource person told the gatherings that the cases of corruption can be investigated by police officers not lower than DSP rank and confirmed the possibility of pursuing the case even at Champhai.

He urged the people to maintain honesty and take part in eradication of corruption.

Dr Manesia Khaimeichho, SDC Champhai administered the oath taking ceremony on Vigilance Awarenes Week.

Francis Lalnuntluanga Ralte, additional SP Champhai proposed vote of thanks.

The programme was attended by officials from different government departments of Champhai.
