Aizawl: The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) will declare the results of the Class 10 and 12 board examinations this month, an official said.

MBSE Chairman JH Zoremthanga said that the board examination results will be published at the earliest convenience within April, and the exact dates are yet to be finalised.

He said the examination committee will soon meet to decide the dates for the publication of the Class 10 and 12 results.

โ€œWe are planning to declare the Class 10 and 12 board examination results within April. We will soon convene a meeting of the examination committee to finalise the dates,โ€ he told reporters.

Earlier, School Education Minister Vanlalthlana had announced that the MBSE will cease following the traditional method of declaring Class 10 and 12 results with merit lists (Top 10), ranks, distinctions, and divisions in the result books from the current year.

The move is aimed at preventing high-stakes competition among students driven by rote memorisation and ensuring quality, competency-based education, he had said.

Last year, 76.68 per cent of students who appeared for the Class 10 board examination successfully cleared it, with the majority passing in the second division, while the Class 12 board examination recorded an 81.10 per cent pass rate.
