Amid nation-wide lockdown and mounting scare over the spread of coronavirus, helps continue to pour in from various quarters to fight the deadly virus in Mizoram.
MLAs, MPs and individuals especially well-to-do families in Mizoram are joining hands to fight the dreaded novel coronavirus pandemic that has killed over 22,100 people and infected more than 4,89,900 people across the world till Thursday.
Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga has donated financial assistance amounting to Rs 1.2 lakh to all local level task forces within his constituency- Aizawl East-I.

The chief minister also called for concerted effort in this time of critical situation to fight the pandemic.
Mizoram’s lone Lok Sabha member C Lalrosanga on Thursday donated Rs 15 lakh to chief minister relief fund for purchase of personal protective equipment and for other necessary expenses.
Lalrosanga, who is currently camping in the national capital, was elected to the Lok Sabha in April last year.
He is closely monitoring Mizo communities stranded in different parts of the country to ensure that they face no inconvenience.
Deputy chief minister Tawnluia also provided financial assistance of Rs 1.72 lakh to local level task forces on COVID-19 within his constituency- Tuichang.

He lauded volunteers who have set out to fight the rapidly increasing coronavirus spread by risking their lives and also assured them of all possible helps from his end.
South Tuipui assembly constituency MLA and health minister Dr R Lalthangliana donated Rs one lakh to Hnahthial district task force to fight the crisis on Thursday.
Congress leader and Palak Assembly constituency MLA K T Rokhaw donated Rs 10 lakh to Siaha district level task force to fight the deadly virus.
He asked the people to support the volunteers, who came out to fight the virus and also adhere to the government guidelines to prevent its further spread in the State.
Apart from politicians, many individual have also contributed to fight the novel coronavirus.
Earlier, on Wednesday Rajya Sabha member Ronald Sapa Tlau had donated Rs 10 lakh to chief minister relief fund.
Ruling Mizo National Front MLA Lalrinsanga Raltte, Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) legislator Dr Vanlalthlana not only installed water tanks for public use but donated money to fight coronavirus and assist families facing food crisis.
Young entrepreneurs John Lalpeka and Lalmalsawma Nghaka also donated Rs five lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively to tide over the crisis.
Mizoram synod also donated Rs two lakh to chief minister relief fund to fight the deadly disease on Wednesday.
Mizoram has reported the first case of coronavirus on Wednesday after a 50-year-old man was tested positive at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.

The patient, who was doing higher studies in Netherlands’ capital Amsterdam had returned to Delhi via Doha on March 15.
He came to Aizawl via Guwahati on March 16.
He was sent to isolation ward at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) near Aizawl on Tuesday night.
Health department officials said he has only mild fever as he condition improved on Thursday.
