Aizawl:ย Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh has issued a stirring call to the youth of Mizoram, urging them to transcend local boundaries and compete on the global stage.

Speaking at the โ€œOne Day Skills Development Conclaveโ€ held at ICFAI University in Durtlang, the Governor described the stateโ€™s young population as a โ€œpriceless assetโ€ capable of driving Indiaโ€™s next wave of innovation.

โ€œSkills are the true currency of success in the modern era,โ€ Singh said, noting that while Mizo youth possess inherent talent, they must now acquire the exposure and confidence required for international competition.

Addressing the realities of the modern economy, Singh emphasised that the government alone cannot provide employment for all.

He urged students to shift their mindset from being job seekers to becoming job creators, pointing to Indiaโ€™s global leadership in the startup ecosystem.

โ€œDo not limit your ambitions to Mizoram alone. Aim for excellence across India and the world, but remain firmly rooted in the rich values and cultural heritage of your home,โ€ the Governor said.

Singh highlighted the service sector as the stateโ€™s fastest-growing economic engine, noting that Mizoramโ€™s peaceful social environment and vibrant culture provide a unique foundation for growth.

However, he stressed that academic learning must be bridged with practical industry needs.

The Governor called for stronger linkages between educational institutions and global markets, a robust ecosystem for entrepreneurship and innovation, and deeper collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure skill initiatives yield real-world results.

He expressed hope that the conclave would serve as more than just a talk shop, envisioning it as the start of a โ€œdynamic movementโ€ that transforms raw talent into tangible opportunities for the next generation.
