According to the health minister, the government is mulling to converge both MSHCS and Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) as suggested by Mizoram State Health Care Society Governing Board.
He expressed hope that medical reimbursement or expenses, which could not be met under the AB-PMJAY scheme could be covered with the notified rate of the state health care scheme.
Lalthangliana also said that the duration for registration under the MSHCS has been extended.
The Mizoram State Health Care Scheme was launched on October 1 by chief minister Zoramthanga.
Under this scheme, beneficiaries are provided health insurance of up to Rs 2 lakh cover in a year.
The scheme also covers those BPL and APL families not covered under AB-PMJAY and family members of a government servant, who are not entitled to medical assistance.
Beneficiaries who receive treatment outside the state can also claim reimbursement, including conveyance under the scheme.
