Mizoram has registered 91 new Covid19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total tally to 4,995.

According to the Covid19 bulletin, released by the directorate of information and public relations, Mizoram, with the new positive cases, the state currently has 437 active cases.

Of the new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, 83 were detected during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), 7 in RT-PCR test at ZMC and 1 case was detected in TrueNat test.

So far, a total of 4,546 patients, who were earlier infected by Covid19 in Mizoram, have been discharged.

Covid19 infection has claimed so far 12 people in Mizoram.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,038 Covid19 tests were conducted in Mizoram.

A total of 228 samples were tested at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) in Aizawl.

The numbers of Covid19 tests conducted in TrueNAT laboratories of various districts were: Lunglei-30, Siaha-2, Champhai-3, Mamit-3, Serchhip-5, Khawzawl-2 and Hnahthial-2.

The numbers of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted in various districts in Mizoram were: Aizawl-786, Lunglei-61, Siaha-6, Champhai-101, Mamit-80, Kolasib-323, Serchhip-72, Lawngtlai-61, Khawzawl-21, Saitual-242 and Hnahthial-10.

On Monday, India registered a record single-day rise of Covid19 infections (2, 73,810) and deaths (1,619), the Union health ministry said.

With this, India’s active cases surpassed the 19-lakh mark.

The number of Covid19 positive cases reported on April 1 was 72,330 while the deaths were 459.

Maharashtra has been reporting the highest number of cases and deaths since the last few days.

According to the Union health ministry, 10 states account for 85.11 percent of the new deaths.

Maharashtra is followed by Chhattisgarh which reported 170 daily deaths on Monday.

After Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh has been reporting the most number of daily cases.

Delhi is also among the worst-impacted states, accounting for 1,060 cases and 6 deaths per hour, as per the data from the Delhi health department.
