Mizoram has reported 198 new Covid19 positive cases in the last 24 hours.

With the new cases, Mizoram’s Covid19 tally has increased to 6,556 on Tuesday.

So far, a total of 5,112 people have recovered from the disease.

Mizoram currently has 1,427 active Covid19 cases.

The deadly virus has claimed the lives of 17 people in Mizoram so far.

Of the new 198 cases, 76 cases were confirmed during RT-PCR tests in Zoram Medical College (ZMC), 120 during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 2 cases were detected during TrueNat tests.

The devastating second wave of Covid19 continues to wreak havoc in India as the nation recorded over 3.5 lakh new Covid19 infections on Monday.

This was the seventh day running when India has seen more than 3.5 lakh Covid19 cases.

On Monday, India reported 3,417 more Covid19 deaths and 3,68,147 new positive cases, according to Union health ministry data.

According to the Union health ministry, India’s total active caseload reached 34,13,642 on Monday.

The caseload comprised 17.13% of the country’s total positive cases.

“A net incline of 63,998 cases recorded from the total active caseload in the last 24 hours,” the health ministry said on Monday.

On April 21 last month, India had breached the 3 lakh-mark in terms of the daily caseload.
