Mizoram on Wednesday, logged 234 new COVID-19 cases, taking the state’s tally to 1,38,847, a health department official said.
The death toll rose to 525 as two more persons have succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, he said.

The fresh cases put the single-day positivity rate at 7.31 per cent as the fresh cases were detected from 3199 sample tests, he said.
The number of active cases now stands at 2678, while 412 people have recovered on Tuesday, taking the total recoveries to 1,35,644.

The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients is 97.69 per cent and the death rate is 0.37 per cent.
The state has so far tested more than 14.72 lakh samples for COVID-19.
According to state immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi, over 7.26 lakh people have been inoculated and 5.78 lakh of them have received both doses of COVID-19 vaccine till Tuesday.
