An 83-year-old man in Aizawl succumbed to Covid-19 on Friday, taking the state’s death toll to seven, an official said.
The man, who has also been suffering from diabetes, died at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) at around 1 pm, he said.

With this the state’s Covid-19 death toll has climbed to seven and all the victims were from Aizawl district, he said.
At least 14 people have tested positive for novel coronavirus and another 20 people have recovered from the virus on Monday.
According to the state health department, the total number of Covid-19 cases has risen to 4,008, of which 1,055 were females.

The number of active cases now stands at181 while 3,820 people have already recovered from the virus, it said.
Of the 14 fresh cases, 10 cases were reported from Aizawl district, 3 from Lunglei district and 1 case was reported from Lawngtlai district.
Three Border Security Force (BSF) jawans and a 6-year-old girl were among the newly infected people.
Eight patients have travel history, while 2 were diagnosed with Covid-19 during contact tracing and it is to ascertain how the remaining 4 patients contracted the virus.
Six patients have developed symptoms of Covid-19, while the rest 8 patients were asymptomatic.
With 1,210 samples on Thursday, Mizoram has so far tested 1,62,246 samples, of which 2.47 per cent were found positive for Covid-19.
The recovery rate is 95.31 per cent.
