Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Wednesday reviewed the progress of several major infrastructure projects, including the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP), railway expansion and Indo-Bangladesh border fencing, during the sixth Mizoram Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementing (Mi-PRAGATI) meeting.
The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s conference hall, also examined follow-up action on decisions taken during previous meetings and assessed the status of ongoing development projects.
Representatives of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, who joined the meeting virtually, were directed to expedite repairs along severely damaged stretches of the KMMTTP within Mizoram and address pending compensation-related matters.
The meeting also reviewed the 109.2-km Paletwa–Kaletwa–Zochachhuah road project under the Ministry of External Affairs. The project has recorded 23.35 per cent physical progress and 30 per cent financial progress.
Railway authorities briefed the meeting on the proposed Sairang–Hmawngbuchhuah railway line in Lawngtlai district and ongoing improvement works at Sairang railway station.
Progress on the Indo-Bangladesh border fencing-cum-road project, particularly the Rajiv Nagar stretch, was also discussed. Officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs joined the meeting online and provided updates on the project.
The meeting further reviewed initiatives of the State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, including efforts to tackle cybercrime and digital arrest cases, along with pending issues related to the Aizawl-Tuipang National Highway works.
A follow-up action plan was formulated, with progress on the issues to be reviewed at subsequent Mi-PRAGATI meetings.
