Aizawl: The CID Special Branch in a covert operation on the outskirts of Aizawl, Mizoram seized narcotics worth over Rs 6 crore.
The operation, which took place at Hualngohmun led to the capture of two vehicles initially, with a third fleeing the scene.

Reports stated that a Renault Kwid (MZ01N3642) containing 32.01 kg of suspected methamphetamine (valued at Rs 4,14,16,900) and 249 grams of suspected heroin (worth Rs 7,47,000) was seized.
Along with this, a Datsun Redi Go (MZ02A9053) yielding 8.021 kg of suspected methamphetamine (valued at Rs 1,04,27,300) and 565 grams of suspected heroin (valued at Rs 16,95,000) was seized.
The reports stated an i10 Magna (MZ01G5672), intercepted early Tuesday morning, containing 2.284 kg of suspected heroin (valued at Rs 68,52,000) fled. However, the items were seized.

Lalthansiama (26), from Khawmawi, Myanmar, and Zoremmawia, temporarily residing in Muanna Veng, Aizawl, were taken into custody.
A juvenile passenger was apprehended from the third vehicle, while the driver, David from Zokhawthar, evaded capture.
The total seizure includes 40.03 kg of suspected methamphetamine (worth Rs 5,20,44,200) and 3.09 kg of suspected heroin (valued at Rs 92,94,000).
The arrested individuals and seized narcotics, amounting to Rs 6,13,38,200, have been handed over to the Special Narcotics Police Station.
A criminal case (Special Narcotics PS Case No.36/2024) has been filed, and investigations into the drug network are ongoing.
