Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla invites Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pay another visit to Mizoram, not a whirlwind visit but for a night or two.

“Visit my state again soon and stay for a night or two to witness the cultural richness of Mizoram,” Lal Thanhawla said.

On the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden visit to Mizoram there was a big fuss about Modi’s short visit. All the larger NGOs of the state including the powerful Central YMA planned a boycott of the PM’s visit which was called off the night before his arrival.

The NGOs stated that the Prime Minister did not have time to meet representatives of the people and said that it was disrespect to the people of Mizoram.

The limited time of PM’s visit of Mizoram was partially reflected in Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla’s speech and twice the Mizoram Chief Minister invited the prime minister for another visit.

Narendra Modi’s swachh bharat mission is working its wonders in Mizoram and the nodal department – urban development & poverty alleviation department has even bagged several national awards. Reflecting on the success of PM’s brainchild mission Lal Thanhawla said: “Swachh Bharat Mission has seen huge successes in Mizoram and we will soon achieve the open defecation free status soon.”

“To see the real Mizoram I invite you to visit us again and enjoy the scenic beauty of the state and enjoy our fresh air,” Lal Thanhawla said.
