Mizoram: Assam Rifles troopers avert major tragedy, 3925 detonators and over 1 ton of explosives recovered

A major tragedy seems to have been averted as the Assam Rifles troopers have recovered war like stores from Farkawn area in Serchhip district of Mizoram. 

Nearly 4000 detonators: 3000 special detonators and 925 electric detonators have been recovered by the Assam Rifles troopers.

While the special detonators were packed in six large cartons, the 925 electric detonators were in 37 packets. 

Over 1 ton of explosives have also been recovered by the Assam Rifles troopers. 

“63 sacks of explosives substance. Each sack containing 10 packets each of 2.08 kgs of Class II CAT -ZZ explosive powder -Total 1.3104 tons,” the Assam Rifles said in a statement.

A total of 2000 metres of safety fuse in 4 boxes have also been recovered.  

Two persons have also been apprehended by the Assam Rifles troopers in connection with the recovery. 

Meanwhile, the recovered items and the apprehended persons have been handed over to Dungtalang Police Station for further investigation. 

A case has also been registered in connection with the recovery.
