The Aizawl Battalion of HQ 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), provided assistance to local youth for SSB Coaching conducted by District Sainik Welfare office, Aizawl.
The training was conducted from November 1-December 1, 2021.
A total of 14 youth including 10 male candidates and 4 female candidates attended the training, the HQ IGAR (East) said in a statement.
The classes were taken by Maj Rebecca (Retd), District Sainik Welfare & Resettlement office, Aizawl in coordination with 2 Assam Rifles and teaching staff by online mode.
The coaching motivated the candidates to take a decision on joining the Indian Army as a profession to serve the nation as an officer of the Armed forces.

The parents of SSB aspirants were happy and expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by Assam Rifles and the Sainik welfare office, the statement said.
In another statement, the HQ IGAR (East) said to achieve the motto of ‘Winning Hearts & Minds of local populace’ and in a bid to educate locals, the Serchhip Battalion of HQ 23 Sector Assam Rifles conducted a lecture and demonstration on first aid, CPR and snake bite at Zokhawthar village on Thursday.

The Battalion conducted lecture-cum-demonstration with an aim to train and educate the locals on the provision of basic first aid.
A demonstration on the first aid procedure was performed by the paramedical team of the Battalion which will save precious lives during any medical emergency.
Moreover, a demonstration on CPR and awareness on snake bite in which the medical team educated locals about how to deal with snake bites cases and measures to avoid snake bite.
In addition, the locals were briefed on the correct steps and measures to be taken in case of cut injuries and control on blood loss and sprain treatment.
The programme concluded with word of thanks by the locals authority and appreciated the kind gesture of the Assam Rifles in reaching out to them and hoped that this effort would go a long way in further cementing the bond between the people of Mizoram and Assam Rifles.
