The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) conducted a road show for creating awareness on Covid19 at Lunglei.

The roadshow was carried out on Saturday.

“The aim of the roadshow was to raise the awareness of Covid19 and promote Covid-appropriate behaviour (CAB),” the Assam Rifles said in a statement.

During the roadshow, special emphasis was given on Covid19 protocols such as ensuring social distancing, regular washing of hand and extensive use of mask.

The troops of Assam Rifles also urged the people to avoid social gathering and asked to stay at home.

The awareness drive was mainly focused on precautionary measures and Do’s and Don’ts during Covid19 pandemic to avoid any loss of life due to the virus.

The Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles has also come forward to extend a helping hand to those in need.

The battalion on Saturday distributed essential food items to a few needy families of Lunglawn, who were actually on the verge of starvation due to the statewide lockdown and non -availability of food items amidst the tough time of Covid19 pandemic.

Being committed to their motto ‘Friend of hill people’, the Assam Rifles has been proactively working across this region to spread awareness and sensitize locals  about Covid19  pandemic and also help the needy and poor.
