Chakma District Congress Committee (CDCC) president Ramani Chakma urged All India Congress Committee (AICC) member Nihar Kanti Chakma to raise the issues of Chakma District Congress before the party high command.
The Chakma District Congress Committee (CDCC) organised a programme at the Congress Bhavan in Kamalanagar, headquarter of Chakma Autonomous District Council, on Thursday.

The programme was graced by AICC member and MLA Nihar Kanti Chakma as the chief guest, Vanremsanga, secretary of Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and C. Zorammawia, general secretary, National Students Union of India (NSUI), Mizoram, as guests of honour.
The day was observed as the first working day of the New Year 2021 by the members of the Chakma District Congress as its office was re-opened on Thursday after the Christmas and New Year vacation.
CDCC president Ramani Chakma warmly welcomed the chief guest and the guests of honour and addressed all the party workers present in the meeting.

He shared his best wishes for New Year 2021 and highlighted in detail regarding the prevailing situation and issues of Chakma District Congress., said a press release.
Chakma requested the MPCC delegates to discuss the issues of Chakma District Congress with the high command in the MPCC headquarters at Aizawl.
Nihar Kanti Chakma expressed his happiness to be a part on the opening day programme of CDCC office.
He said, “Indian National Congress is the most respected and oldest of all political parties in India and not coming in power in the previous election in Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) is due to the frequent changes of the CEMs (chief executive member) and it was the main downfall of the Congress in CADC.”
“It is a lesson for the Congress party workers to work hard with full faith and strong determination,” he added.
He boosted the spirit and confidence of the party workers and reassured to form the government in the 2023 general election if the workers can work hard for the next two years.
MPCC secretary Vanremsanga shared his best wishes for the New Year 2021 and addressed the party members present in the meeting.
“I’m happy to see such young and educated youths of the Congress who are the main future of the Congress party,” said Vanremsanga.
He also requested the party workers to be more active and work hard and assured that the party will form the government in 2023.
Vanremsanga also expressed his gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the CDCC for the hospitality and love shown on his visit.
Chakma District Mahila Congress (CDMC) vice-president Anjana Chakma, Chakma District Youth Congress Committee (CDYCC) president Lokesh Chakma, CDCC senior adviser Adikanata Tongchangya also addressed the party members in the meeting.
The meeting was concluded with votes of thanks by CDCC general secretary Rajesh Chakma, the release added.
