The COVID-19 scenario in Mizoram continues to worsen with every single passing day.   

Mizoram on Tuesday logged 2 more COVID-19 deaths.

With these two new death cases, Mizoram’s COVID-19 death toll has mounted to 28. 

One of the deceased persons was a 67-year-old woman from Aizawl’s Tanhril, who succumbed to the virus at 1:30am on Tuesday at the Zoram Medical College near Aizawl.

On the other hand, Mizoram on Tuesday logged 239 new COVID-19 cases. 

With the new cases, Mizoram’s COVID-19 positive tally increased to 9068.    

Mizoram now has 2108 active cases.   

Of the fresh 239 new COVID-19 cases, 199 cases were detected through Rapid Antigen Test, 35 through RT-PCR test conducted at the Zoram Medical College near Aizawl and 8 others were detected through TrueNat tests.

Aizawl accounts for the highest number of active COVID-19 cases.   

There are a total of 1578 active COVID-19 cases in Aizawl.   

Meanwhile, as many as 6932 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in Mizoram thus far.
