34 family members of lawmakers from coup hit Myanmar, who have taken refuge in Mizoram have tested positive for COVID-19.
The development was informed by officials of the Mizoram health department.
A total of 24 legislators from Myanmar, who had won elections in 2020 elections in the neighbouring country, are taking refuge in Mizoram along with their families.
The Myanmar legislators and their family members were accommodated at the separately from other refugees at an indoor stadium in Aizawl.

Thousands of Myanmar nationals have entered into Mizoram in India after the military takeover of the country in February.
The Mizoram government have been providing food and shelter to these refugees on humanitarian grounds.
Moreover, over 1700 Myanmar refugee children have been admitted to schools in Mizoram.
