If exit polls are to be believed, Congress is set to lose its last bastion in Northeast–Mizoram. The surveys so far predict major gains for the Mizo National Front (MNF).

The Republic-CVoter survey has predicted between 14 and 18 seats for the ruling Congress, 16 to 20 seats for the MNF and three to seven seats for the 3-7 for Zoram People’s Movement.

The CNX-Times Now survey suggested MNF is set to win 18 seats while Congress will win 16 seats. The NewsX-NETA survery gives the Congress 15 seats, 19 to the MNF and its allies and six for other parties

The 40-seat Assembly has a majority mark of 21. 73 per cent of the 7.68 lakh voters exercised their franchise to elect a new assembly in Mizoram.

The Mizoram assembly election results will be declared on December 11.
