Mizoram has registered one more COVID19 positive case, taking the state’s total tally to 14.
According to Mizoram’s COVID19 update in the evening, shared by chief minister Zoramthanga on his Twitter handle on Wednesday, the number of active cases in the state now stands at 13.
Earlier, the first COVID19 positive patient was discharged from the hospital after recovery.
As per the update, the results of 250 samples tested for COVID19 are awaited.
After discharge of the first case, there were no reports of any new COVID19 positive case registered in Mizoram and the state remained Corona-free till Sunday.
However, on Monday night, the state registered altogether 12 new positive cases taking the state’s total tally to 13 and lost the status of Corona-free state.
All the new cases were confirmed at Zoram Medical College.
This was informed by chief minister Zoramthanga on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday morning.
With 1,672 positive cases, Assam is on the top of the list of COVID19 positive cases registered in the Northeast.
Assam currently has 1252 active COVID19 cases.
On Wednesday, India’s total tally of COVID19 positive increased to 2,07,615 including 1,01,497 active cases.
While 100,303 people have recovered from the disease, the infection has claimed the lives of 5,815 people, the Union Health Ministry informed on Wednesday.
