Mizoram registered 9.47 per cent single-day positivity rate of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours after 572 people, including 138 children, have tested positive for the infection.

With this number, the state’s tally increased to 1, 17,261, a health department official said.

The death toll rose to 407 as seven more people have succumbed to the infection during the same period, he said.

The number of new infections was 175 less than the COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday.

Aizawl district reported the highest number of fresh cases at 298, followed by Lunglei district (64) and Serchhip district (61), the official said.

The number of Covid-19 active cases now stands at 8,943, while 1,258  people have recovered on Saturday, taking the total recovery to 1,07,911.

The recovery rate among Covid-19 patients in the state is at 92 per cent and the death rate is 0.34 per cent.

The state has conducted more than 12,67 lakh sample tests for COVID-19 so far, of these 6,037samples were tested on Saturday.

Over 6.93 lakh people have been vaccinated till Saturday, of which 5.02 lakh people have received the full dose of COVID-19 vaccine, state immunization officer Dr. Lalzawmi said.
