Guwahati: The Budget Session of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly will begin on February 17, officials said on Monday.
The Business Advisory Committee (BAC), headed by Speaker Lalbiakzama, will finalise the session’s programme, including the date for presentation of the Budget for the 2026–27 financial year.
The Secretariat said the length of the session will depend on the volume of government bills and other official business listed for transaction.
The forthcoming sitting will be the sixth session of the ninth Assembly. Chief Minister Lalduhoma, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the third annual Budget of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government since it assumed office on December 8, 2023.
Additional Secretary of the Assembly Secretariat Lalthangmawia said the BAC, headed by Lalbiakzama, has yet to convene. He said the panel will also determine the length of the session after assessing the volume of legislative and official business.
