The Assam Police has registered a case in connection with the violent clash along the Mizoram border the claimed the lives of six cops of the state.

Special DGP GP Singh, in a tweet on Wednesday, said that the case has been lodged at Dholai Police station in Cachar district about the killing of Assam Police personnel on July 26.

โ€œDholai PS Case No 236/21 under sections 120(B),447,336,379,333,307,302 IPC read with Section 25 (1-A) of Arms Act and Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public property Act 1984 has been registered on July 27th 2021 about killing of Assam Police personnel on July 26th,โ€ Singh tweeted.

โ€œThe incident took place at Inner Line Reserve Forest area of Cachar district, Assam along National Highway 306, around 1.7 Kms southwards from Lailapur PP,โ€™ Singh added in a tweet.

Singh in another tweet said that Assam Police also announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to the arrest of each individual involved in the barbaric killing of Assam Police personnel in the incident.

He further said that Assam Police has prepared a picture gallery of Mizoram Police personnel and civilian miscreants who fired at Assam Police on July 26.

Singh said that they would be brought to law.
