The mathamphetamine tablets seized in Champhai district of Mizoram

The Serchhip battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles recovered five pouches of methamphetamine tablets from the forest area of Zote in Mizoram’s Champhai village.

A joint team of Assam Rifles personnel and officials of the Champhai customs department conducted an operation in Zote on Monday, during which the mathamphetamine tablets were recovered.

The seized tablets are estimated to be worth Rs 18,05,00 in the market.

The operation was conducted based on definite inputs.

However, no one was arrested in connection to this.

On the other hand, personnel of the Aizawl battalion of Assam Rifles rescued two persons from the site of an accident in Durtlang Hills of Aizawl recently.

The accident had occurred on the night of June 6 when a four-wheeler reportedly toppled down the Durtlang hillside after the driver had lost control.

The medical team of Assam Rifles also arrived on the spot and provided first-aid treatment to the victims, following which they were able to return to their residences.
