Aizawl FC has signed Gift Raikhan as their new coach and has roped in experienced Nigerian striker Chidi Edeh on Thursday.

“We are more than happy to announce that Gift Raikhan will be our new head coach for the upcoming season 2018-2019,” Aizawl FC said in a release.

Just a day after Gift Raikhan joined the Aizawl side, the Mizo football club signed veteran Nigerian striker Chidi Edeh Thursday.

Chidi Edeh has played for various clubs in India and scored 104 goals for 8 different clubs in the top tier. He then moved on to Malaysian based Kedah FA where he scored 18 goals out of 26 appearances and then later on moved on to his hometown club Enugu Rangers and scored 17 goals out of 30 appearances.

“The People’s Club is overjoyed that we can rope in an experienced forward like Chidi Edeh and we believe that he will strengthen the squad and be a great addition to the team,” Robert Romawia Royte, owner of Aizawl FC said.

Gift Raikhan has become one of the most gifted coaches in Indian football. He started his coaching career in 2007 at Pune FC where he led the Youth Development. He clinched the 2017 I-League 2nd Division trophy and helped qualify his team NEROCA FC to play in I-League. In the recently concluded I-League 2017-2018 the team that he managed- NEROCA FC finished off in second place with a chance of being the champions till the last match of the league.
