In a bizarre incident, Aizawl FC failed to report for their Hero Super Cup qualifier football match against Chennaiyin FC till the scheduled kick-off time on Saturday at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar of Odisha.

As the Aizawl FC did not report till the scheduled kick-off time, the matches did not kick-off and was abandoned.

Consequently Chennaiyin FC progressed to the next round of Hero Super Cup.

However, the reason behind Aizawl FC failing to report for their Hero Super Cup qualifier football match is not immediately known.

Meanwhile, the All India Football Federation has taken the issue very seriously and have twitted that the matter will be dealt as per the regulations of the tournament.

Incidentally the same was the case with Gokulam Kerala FC that also failed to turn up at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar for their Hero Super Cup Qualifying match against Delhi Dynamos FC.

That match was also abandoned and Delhi Dynamos FC have been declared to progress to the next round.
