At least 440 people, including 88 children, have tested positive for Covid19 in Mizoram in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s tally to 57,962, a health department official said on Monday.
The death toll rose to 213 as a 68-year-old woman from Aizawl died on Sunday night.

The new positive cases were reported from various districts with Aizawl reporting the highest at 310, followed by Mamit district at 74 and Kolasib district at 15, he said.
The single-day positivity rate is 22.59% as the new cases were detected from 1,948 samples, he said.
All the patients were infected by the virus locally.

The number of active cases now stands at 8,510 while 49,239 people have recovered from the infection, including 271 people on Sunday.
The recovery rate among Covid19 patients is 84.95% and the death rate is 0.36%.
The state has tested more than 8.47 lakh samples for Covid19 till date.
Over 6.54 lakh people have been vaccinated till Saturday of which 2.35 lakh have received full doses of Covid19 vaccine, according to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi.
