Mizoram COVID-19 count reached 1, 41,157 on Thursday as 202 more new cases- 5 less than the previous day- were reported in the last 24 hours, a health department official said.
At least 38 children were among the newly infected people, he said.

The death toll rose to 542 as a 66-year-old man from Aizawl district has succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, he said.
The single-day positivity rate increased to 9.80 per cent from 6.70 per cent the previous day, he said.

The northeastern state now has 1,570 active cases, while 1, 39,045 people have so far recovered from the infection and 114 of them have recovered on Wednesday, the official said.
The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients is 98.50 per cent and the death rate is 0.38 per cent.
The state has so far tested more than 15.04 lakh samples for COVID-19 and 2,061 samples were tested on Wednesday.
Over 7.30 lakh people have been inoculated and 5.89 lakh of them have received full dose till Wednesday, state immunization officer Dr. Lalzawmi said.
