This year’s season of the Mizoram Premier League football tournament will kick off from September 6 next at the Lammual or the Assam Rifles ground in Aizawl.
Officials of the Mizoram Football Association (MFA) disclosed on Wednesday that the official launch of the seventh edition of the league – Mizoram Premier League 7 (MPL7) -will be held on Friday at Chanmari YMA Hall in Aizawl.
This season eight clubs will battle it out on the football turf for the coveted trophy.
The teams that are participating in this year’s Mizoram Premier League are Aizawl FC, Bethlehem Vengthlang FC, Chanmari FC, Chawnpui FC, Chhinga Veng FC Electric Veng FC, Mizoram Police and Ramhlun North FC.
According to the itinerary prepared by the organizers, all the eight teams will have two face-offs at the league stage and the top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
The final of Mizoram Premier League is scheduled to take place on December 7 next.
All the Mizoram Premier League encounters are scheduled to take place at the Assam Rifles ground, except from one round, which will be played outside Aizawl.
The matches at Assam Rifles ground will be at 2 pm and 7 pm.
The round and the venue are yet to be determined.
The ticket prices for the league round have been fixed at Rs 30, while rates for the semi-finals and the final are Rs 50 and Rs 100 each.
Organizers have further informed that students in school uniforms and senior citizens will get free entry into the ground to enjoy the matches.
