In a shocking incident a minor school girl was murdered brutally on Sunday in Tripura’s Dhalai district.
The incident took place at Dashrai Bari village of Raishyabari under Dhalai district, 160 kilometres from capital city of Agartala.
The girl had gone to collect bamboo shoots from jungle for their family.
Two other school children were also critically injured in the incident.
The school girl who was murdered has been identified as Siyari Tripura (13), a student of Raishyabari Higher Secondary School of class VII.
According to her father, Siyari along with Danesh Tripura (9) and Kakarchan Tripura (6) went to the nearby jungle on Sunday afternoon to collect bamboo shoot to make dinner.
After few hours the villagers heard hue and cry from the jungle side and they rushed to the spot.
They found Danesh and Kakarchan were grievously injured.
But Siyari was not in the spot.
Other villagers told that several cut marks were found in the body of Danesh and Kakarchan.
They were bleeding profusely.
From the two kids they came to know that one Sipaljoy Tripura attacked them with a ‘takkal’, a sharp weapon used by the tribals of Tripura.
Sipaljoy Tripura (23) went to jungle for rearing cattle.
The two kids were initially taken to Raishyabari hospital for immediate medical attention.
Later they were shifted to Gandachera subdivisional hospital and late night shifted to Kulai hospital.
Police told the condition of Kakarchan is very critical.
He got injury on his head also.
Suleman Reang, officer in-charge of Raishyabari Police station told the villagers searched the jungle from Sunday afternoon.
Later they found the body of Siyari Tripura.
Her body was found with several injuries and cut marks.
Her body has been sent to Gandachera hospital for autopsy.
It will do on Monday.
Police suspect that Sipaljoy tried to rape her and after failing to do so he attacked on them with sharp weapon.
Raishyabari Police station registered a case and started investigation.
However, the main accused Sipaljoy is absconding till the time filing this report.
The incident has created panic at the Raishyabari area.
