Meghalaya health minister AL Hek held a meeting with the various private hospitals and spoke about the crisis situation.

He said that the government want their complete cooperation during this time of crisis.

During the meeting, the health minister informed that the Shillong Civil Hospital has been converted into COVID-19 hospital.

“200 beds in the civil hospital are being kept ready in case of an emergency situation. The Civil Hospital from now on is a dedicated COVID-19 hospital,” Hek said.

He further informed that 200 in Tura Civil Hospital have also been readied to deal with COVID-19 patients.

He further informed that patients from the government hospitals would be shifted to private hospitals if a single positive COVID-19 case is detected in the state.

Meghalaya is yet to report a positive COVID-19 case. Around 78 samples were sent to NEIGRIHMS and all of them tested negative.
