Arunachal Pradesh’s Sub-Junior Boys football team on Friday entered the semifinals of the Hero Sub-Jr Boys National Football Championship 2019-20 at Kalyani in West Bengal.

A goalless draw against hosts West Bengal in the final qualifying round of Hero Sub-Jr Boys’ National Football Championship 2019-20 saw the Arunachal Pradesh team on the top of Group B with 10 points.

The tournament which is currently underway at Kalyani would now see Arunachal Pradesh face Kerala in the second semifinal to be played on Sunday.

Earlier, the executive team of Arunachal Pradesh Football Association comprising its vice-president Kipa Takum, competitions director John Neelam and disciplinary committee chairman Gebin Kato visited the Kalyani Sports Complex to encourage the state team.

The APFA team met the players and officials after the match and congratulated them on their fantastic run in the championship also extended their wishes for the upcoming matches.

The Arunachal sub-junior boys’ team is silver medallist of the previous edition.

The team registered a big win in its opening game against Maharashtra at Kalyani in West Bengal in the ongoing Hero Sub-Junior Boys’ National Football Tournament.

Arunachal Pradesh defeated Maharashtra by a margin of 6-0 goals.
