St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong has swept the first ten positions in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate examinations in both science and commerce streams, the results of which were declared by the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE) on Thursday at 10 am.
In the science stream, St Anthony’s took to itself all positions, except the fifth position jointly bagged by the school and Laban Bengalee Boys’ H/S School, Shillong.
St Anthony’s bagged through Kaustab Choudhury the first position in HSSLC (Science) and secured 468 aggregate marks.
Similarly, in the commerce stream, St Anthony’s dominated almost all the top ten positions except 3rd and 6th positions, and the 8th position was jointly held by St Anthony’s and Gorkha Pathshala H/S School, Shillong.
Komal Sharma of St Anthony’s also secured the first position in HSSLC (commerce) with 445 aggregate marks.
Out of 3,566 candidates who appeared the HSSLC (science) examinations this year, 2,576 of them passed with a pass percentage of 72.24.
Similarly, out of 2,179 candidates who appeared the HSSLC (commerce) examinations, 1,684 of them passed with a pass percentage of 77.28.
Amid challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the chances for successful students to continue their higher studies is still uncertain this year.
The Meghalaya government has allowed educational institutes to issue online admission free of cost.
No decision has been taken on re-opening of educational institutes so far.

Step 2: Under ‘Upcoming Results 2020’, click on link for Meghalaya Board Results 2020 or go through direct link
Step 3: Enter details like roll number, date of birth and click submit
Step 4: The result will be displayed on the screen. Download and save for future reference.
Earlier, the board has made it clear that the results will only be available online and will not be displayed at the board office or exam centres due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Last year, the Class 12 results for Science, Commerce and Vocational streams were out on May 8 and for Arts stream, the scores were released on May 27.
However, the results were delayed this year as some examinations were held in June after being deferred due to the lockdown in March.
