Shun violence: Meghalaya Dy CM Prestone Tynsong, Minister Kyrmen Shylla ask HNLC

Meghalaya Cabinet Minister Kyrmen Shylla has asked the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) to refrain from wreaking violence in the State.

Rubbishing HNLC’s claim that the cement factories in the State are not recruiting locals, Kyrmen Shylla said that the outlawed outfit “has no right to seek separate taxes from any company” in the State.

Notably, HNLC had said that the “nobody should interfere” in their tax collection.

Shylla informed that police are looking out for the real culprits behind the blast at Star Cement factory.

“It would be a shame if the people of the State lose employment opportunities,” Shylla said.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has asked the HNLC to shun violence for the State Government to convince the Centre for peace negotiations with the banned outfit.

“State Government has already given its view on peace talks to the Centre,” Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said.
