SHILLONG: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma reiterated his government’s commitment to prioritize the safety and security of the residents of Meghalaya.

Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma made this statement after inaugurating the newly constructed police outpost at Mallangkona in West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.

The area, known for past instances of unrest near the Assam border, has seen confrontations resulting in tragic outcomes.

“The establishment of this police outpost fulfils a longstanding demand of the Mallangkona community. It reasserts government’s commitment to ensure safety of our people,” stated Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma.

He stated that similar police facilities would be established in other critical locations across Meghalaya to bolster citizen protection and security.

“I commend the people of Mallangkona for their proactive involvement in this project, setting a commendable example for community engagement. I encourage other communities to follow suit and participate actively in similar initiatives,” the Meghalaya CM added.
