Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on the occasion of “World Water Day” on Monday appealed to the people to save water.
Although Meghalaya’s Mawsynram can boost of being the wettest place in the world, there are many places in the state that have no access to clean potable water.

Sangma asked the people to make a conscious effort to save every drop of water.
“World Water Day” is celebrated across the globe every year to highlight the need for sustainable management of resources of freshwater.

The theme for the day this year is “valuing water”, which lays emphasis on the need to save water as millions of people around the globe do not have access to safe potable water even today.
“Our lives depend on water and preserving this valuable resource depends on us. Let us make sure we do that wisely. #WorldWaterDay2021 #ValuingWater,” Conrad Sangma tweeted.
