Reshuffle in Meghalaya Cabinet: James Sangma new health minister, Prestone gets power

Chief minister Conrad K Sangma has brought a reshuffle in the Meghalaya Cabinet with partial modifications of the Cabinet affairs department’s earlier notifications.

In its latest notification, issued on Friday, the Cabinet affairs department informed that the Meghalaya Governor at the advice of the chief minister has ordered the allocation/reallocation of portfolios to four ministers including deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong.

According to the fresh notification, deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong has been allocated the portfolios of power, housing, parliamentary affairs, public works department (roads).

Earlier, minister James K Sangma was holding the power portfolio.

Minister James K Sangma has been made the new health minister of Meghalaya.

After BJP leader AL Hek’s removal as the Meghalaya health minister, Prestone Tynsong took the additional charge of the department.

The other portfolios that James K Sangma will hold are food, civil supplies & consumers affairs, forests & environment, information & public relations, law., taxation. registration & stamps departments.

Sniawbhalang Dhar has been allocated the portfolios of tourism, commerce & industries, urban affairs, municipal administration, general administration and fisheries departments.

Minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare has been allocated the transport and public works (building) departments.
