President Ram Nath Kovind will to visit Meghalaya soon before completing one year in office.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma along with State Tourism Minister Metbah Lyngdoh, Power Minister James K Sangma met the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi and discussed several initiatives that the state intended to take up for the growth of the state and welfare of the people.

“During the course of discussion, the President expressed his desire to visit the state as he wanted complete his visit to all states within one year after assuming office,” Conrad informed.
The President is yet to visit Meghalaya, Tripura and Sikkim.
Kovind assumed office as the 14th President of India on July 25, 2017. Previously, he had served as the Governor of Bihar and as Rajya Sabha MP from 1994 to 2006.
