The Measles-Rubella Vaccine campaign in Meghalaya is scripting a success story with the West Garo Hills district recording vaccination of 89,889 children after the completion of 1394 sessions out of the planned 3089 sessions for the district.
This was stated in a press release issued by the district administration on Wednesday.

The vaccination campaign has not encountered any serious complications from any part of the district so far, the statement said.
The MR Campaign which began on October 1 will be conducted for 37 working days and the total target in the district is 1,72,082 children.

The campaign will be observed up to November 17 in all the government health facilities, anganwadi centres and schools for all students including those that were left out.
The statement further stated that the district health authority has appealed to parents and guardians to immunize all children from nine months to below 15 years to secure them against contracting the two deadly diseases.
