“Government of Meghalaya has denied harassment of Bengali citizens in the State,” said Reddy in a written reply to a question raised by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi.
He said that there is no information to suggest any fear in the minds of travellers and tourists visiting the North-eastern States.
“As law and order is a State subject, concerned State Governments are to take appropriate action. However, Government of India issues advisories from time to time to the State Governments in aid of such actions,” Reddy added.
