Students of over 20 tribes on Tuesday came out against CAB and prepared posters in five different languages and displayed them at the NEHU campus in Tura, Meghalaya.

The entire Northeast on Tuesday came to a grinding halt following the 11-hour Northeast bandh called by the North East Studentsโ Organisation (NESO).
People from all walks of life hit the streets and staged a demonstration against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB), 2019.
The CAB was passed by the Lok Sabha on Monday midnight and will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
If passed, then CAB will grant citizenships non-Muslims, migrants, from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan who were religiously persecuted from there.
