Students of over 20 tribes on Tuesday came out against CAB and prepared posters in five different languages and displayed them at the NEHU campus in Tura, Meghalaya.
“These posters (written in 5 different languages) are prepared by students of more than 20 tribes of North East studying in NEHU, Tura,” tweeted a user named Konpai Borooah.

“They are not being forced by anyone… They came out spontaneously against CAB. I am proud of you boys. You are the Real Voice of NorthEast,” he added.

The entire Northeast on Tuesday came to a grinding halt following the 11-hour Northeast bandh called by the North East Students’ Organisation (NESO).
People from all walks of life hit the streets and staged a demonstration against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB), 2019.
The CAB was passed by the Lok Sabha on Monday midnight and will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
If passed, then CAB will grant citizenships non-Muslims, migrants, from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan who were religiously persecuted from there.
