Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Tura MP Agatha Sangma who tied the nuptial knot with her fiancé, Patrick Rongma Marak on Thursday.
“Congratulations to Agatha and Patrick. Best wishes to the newlyweds,” Modi said re-tweeting a tweet by Agatha’s brother and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma.

Agatha is the only daughter of former Lok Sabha speaker, late PA Sangma.

Conrad Sangma has thanked the PM for congratulating the newlyweds.
“Thank you Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodiji for your kind wishes and especially for remembering our Late Father today,” Conrad tweeted.
“We are grateful for your blessings for Agatha and Patrick. Warmest regards from our family,” the Meghalaya CM added.

Earlier, sharing a few images of the wedding ceremony at Tura, Conrad tweeted: “Congratulations to the newlyweds! May God bless their union as they begin their journey together. Such a proud and happy moment for our family.”
The distinguished guests attending the wedding ceremony included Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and former captain of the Indian football team, Bhaichung Bhutia.

Agatha got married to Patrick SR Marak, a doctor at North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong, in a glittering ceremony at Tura, attended by several prominent personalities of the Northeast on Thursday.
