At least 12 projects funded by the World bank in Meghalaya will be completed by December 2022. 

This was informed by Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong. 

Out of the 12 projects funded by the World Bank, 10 are road projects and two are bridges. 

Of the 10 road projects, five are in Garo Hills districts and five in Khasi Hills districts. 

The road projects comprise of a total of 262.4 kilometres.

Rs 554.67 crores were sanctioned by the World Bank in 2020 for the projects in Meghalaya. 

The projects were sanctioned under the Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project (MITP). 

“We are targeting December 2022 to complete the projects,” Meghalaya deputy CM Prestone Tynsong said. 

He added that reviewing of the implementation of the projects will be done on a regular basis to ensure timely completion.
