The Meghalaya police will send six companies of police personnel for election duty in Bihar which goes to polls in three phases starting from October 28.

Two police officials have been entrusted to oversee the police personnel who will leave for Bihar in the coming days, said an official.

In total around 600 police personnel will leave the state for performing election duty till the middle of November.

The third and final phase polling will be held on November 7, and counting of votes will be held on November 10.
