Guwahati: A young boy tragically lost his life after a family meal with mushrooms in Ri Bhoi, Meghalaya turned devastating.

Three-year-old Da-u-Rijied Syiemlieh passed away on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Bethany Hospital’s ICU.

The incident took place on June 2 when a family in Saiden village consumed what are believed to be poisonous mushrooms.

Several hours later, all five family members, including Da-u-Rijied, experienced severe symptoms and were rushed to Nongpoh Civil Hospital and Bethany Hospital for medical attention.

While the remaining family members are currently in critical condition, Da-u-Rijied succumbed to the poisoning.
