SHILLONG: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the union finance ministry for release of an additional devolution instalment of Rs 536 crores, bringing the total funds received for June to Rs 1072.90 crore.

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma, who also holds the finance portfolio of the state, state that these additional funds from the Centre will significantly aid in the implementation of developmental projects across the state.

Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma said, “We express our gratitude to the finance ministry for releasing an additional devolution instalment of Rs 536 crores to Meghalaya and a total of Rs 1072.90 crore for the month of June.”

“This additional money will enable the state to accelerate the ongoing development projects,” the Meghalaya chief minister added.
