Ri-Bhoi police in Meghalaya intercepted a truck carrying 500 kilograms of marijuana.

Informing about it in a tweet, the Meghalaya police on Friday said that even though the police has allowed the transportation of essential goods during the lockdown, however, in no way “weed” is essential and hence they can’t allow it to be transported.

“Weed like to inform the general public that, of all the Essential items permitted in the times of #Corona, Marijuana ain’t one of them. Sorry for our bluntness, but that’s just how we roll!” the tweet said.

“Kudos to @RibhoiPolice for intercepting a Truck carrying 500 KGs of  Marijuana,” the tweet added.

The tweet has been re-tweeted a number of times and netizens have appreciated the humour of the Meghalaya police.
