Two more Covid-19-related deaths reported on Friday in Meghalaya taking the fatality figure in the state to 118.

During the last 24 hours, a total of 62 fresh cases were reported, pushing up the active count to 630.

A total of 78 people recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 11,319 so far.

East Khasi Hills recorded 34 new Covid cases on Friday.

Official sources informed on Thursday that 66,753 people from outside entered the state, which has 27 containment zones.

Meghalaya has so far registered 12,067 Covid-19 confirmed cases, including 118 deaths due to the viral infection.

On Wednesday, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma had said the Covid-19 situation in the state was coming down, but had cautioned against letting the “guard down”.
