Altogether, 19 fresh positive cases were confirmed for COVID-19 in Meghalaya on Thursday, increasing active cases to 457.

These 19 new positive cases include 13 BSF personnel in East Khasi Hills district and three each in West Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills district.

At present, the number of BSF personnel infected by the virus is 282.

The state’s tally has gone up to from 515 to 534 cases, which include, 452 active cases, 78 recoveries, and four deaths.

East Khasi Hills district has the highest number of active positive cases at 379.

The majority of the people who tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya were those who returned from other parts of the country, as well as personnel of different paramilitary forces.
