Meghalaya power minister James K Sangma, who had tested positive for Covid-19 at Imphal airport in Manipur on Saturday, has tested positive for the virus on a second re-test, which was conducted on Sunday through RT-PCR.
Health minister A L Hek said that the result of the minister came positive in RT-PCR test.
The positive case of the power minister is now counted in Meghalaya.
Sangma was tested positive for COVID-19 through a rapid antigen test at the Bir Tikendrajit International airport in Imphal on Saturday.
Sangma reached Shillong from Manipur on Sunday and swab sample was collected from the minister on Sunday for the RT-PCR test.
As per protocol, ten days quarantine have to be completed at home or Covid care centre.
Sangma is undergoing home quarantine.
